This year is our fifth anniversary, so we decided to ‘go hard’ on the collaborative events.
In addition to compilations, we are having two fests this year. One is an urlfest “Harshcon” that will be hosted on our youtube over the course of three days. Essentially, we are seeking submissions of video essays, live sets, tutorials, gear reviews, and things of that nature. The event itself will be August 26-28, 2022.
Next, there is Glitchfest, a game jam hosted on itch.io. A game jam is a competition where games are judged on various characteristics, it’s essentially a noise comp but with indie games. In the spirit of collaboration, the event is open to the public: the page there says to tag the @collab role on this server, Visit #rules to grab that. Then we have the Unreal Engine Marketplace Sound Pack comp, in which you’d be submitting a track and a handful of loops for distribution on the Unreal Engine Marketplace for use as a game asset. Submissions would be a track and then a few loops/sound effects made from the track. A number of people have expressed interest in getting their music into video games and/or working on more interactive collaborations.
